You choose to give us information in a few places: inquiry forms (your name, email, phone, message, and the property or service you asked about); the newsletter (your email); the Find Your Town quiz and Cost of Living calculator (your email and the preferences you enter, so we can send your results); and direct bookings through our booking engine (guest and stay details, with payment handled by Stripe; card numbers go directly to Stripe and we never see or store them).
We do not collect data about you in the background. Our own pages use no advertising trackers, no analytics cookies, and no session recording.
To answer your inquiry, send what you asked for, and manage your booking. If you ticked the box or subscribed, we also send occasional emails about the Costa Rica market, new listings, and direct-booking offers. Every email includes a working unsubscribe link; unsubscribing is immediate and free. We never sell, rent, or trade your personal information.
We use a small set of service providers who store data on our behalf, primarily on servers in the United States: Klaviyo (email), HubSpot (client records), Stripe (payments), Hostify (booking management), and Cloudflare (hosting and forms). Fonts are served by Google Fonts, which receives your IP address when a page loads. Our booking engine (expatpropertiescr.hostify.club) is operated with Hostify and may set cookies of its own, including Google Tag Manager.
Inquiry and client records are kept while we have an active relationship with you and for a reasonable period afterward, as required for legal, accounting, and tax purposes in Costa Rica. Newsletter consent records are kept while you are subscribed and for three years after.
Under Costa Rica’s Law 8968, Canada’s PIPEDA, and applicable US law, you may at any time ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or tell us to stop emailing you. Write to info@expatpropertiescr.com and we will respond promptly.
Our services are directed to adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
If we change this policy, we will update this page and the date above. We will not reduce your rights without telling you.
